Motor Miles
Motor Miles by John Burningham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Just the THOUGHT of a car-driving dog is smile-worthy. What child (or adult, for that matter) wouldn’t love to be dropped off at school (work) with their beloved pet behind the wheel for all to see? And a road trip to the seaside, a journey through the leaves in the autumn, and a drive out to play in the snow? Magical!

Miles is an incorrigible curmudgeon of a pet but he loves car rides. One day Mr. Huddy makes him a car of his own to drive. This is an imaginary, clever tale that delivers giggles and smiles in spades.

John Burningham is an icon in children’s publishing. And this book is a testament why.
