“Shoot for the stars and see where you land” has been my mantra for as long as I can remember. As a kid, this meant a very real and deep aspiration to become master artist Vincent van Gogh. As a young adult, this meant holding my heart for my future husband, Roger Daltrey. (Well, he did look great during the Farewell Tour!) And over a lifetime, this has meant achievement—sometimes supported with talent, other times not. (Live and learn.)
But what sits at the core of this refusal to accept mediocrity is the fundamental belief that we are built for greatness—individuals, groups, organizations, and nations. We all have something great inside just waiting to be revealed.
And that is what I enjoy most: uncovering the greatness in others and shining it brightly to the world.
